Description
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our industrial wood pellet manufacturing facility. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe target production of high-quality industrial wood pellets and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations and plant management, mechanical concepts, and a proven track record of successfully leading a team of over 100 employees in a manufacturing industry.


Overview of Position:

Operational Leadership is required providing tactical and strategic direction to maintain the safe and efficient management of the facility. You will monitor and analyze production metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. The role will require you to lead, motivate, and hold accountable a diverse team. You will drive a continuing culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement and conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching and oversee capacity building in our workforce. You will work closely with the EHS manager to conduct safety audits, drills, and procedures for a safe working environment. This role requires a strong understanding of the environmental compliance policies and regulations to deliver the requirements of all regulations.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven manufacturing plant management experience of 5+ years, preferably in the wood industry but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of wood processing, pelletizing equipment, or related technology is helpful.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate a high-performance team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage budgets, production schedules, and operational processes.
  • Detailed understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
 Benefit Package:
  • Medical - Employee premiums are paid to a total of $500 per month. (this covers employees only and some of the children/spouses if that coverage is chosen).
