Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Sr EHS Supervisor, the EHS Technician will help assist specialists by collecting data on work environments and implementing the worksite improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct employee training programs that might cover a range of topics, such as how to use safety equipment correctly and how to respond in an emergency.
  • Make sure that workers are using the required protective gear, such as masks, smocks, gloves, etc.
  • Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and ensure proper use by workers.
  • Investigate incidents to determine the cause and possible prevention.
  • Prepare written reports of their findings.
  • Collaborate with management to establish and maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification.
  • Contribute to compliance audits of site programs and policies, and deliver audit outcomes to Sr. EHS Supervisor.
  • Manage the Trina Solar document portal and the compliance calendar.
  • Examine worksites for environmental or physical factors that could harm employee health, safety, comfort, or performance.
  • Conduct safety and environmental training

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 0-1+ years of experience in Manufacturing Safety.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • OSHA Certification is preferred but not necessary.
  • Environmental regulations experience preferred.
  • Experience writing EHS reports to regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals of varied backgrounds. Ability to present in front of large groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understand regulatory requirements (TCEQ, EPA, etc.)
  • Experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
  • Ability to create new policies and procedures.

  • Manufacturing environment

 


OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Been able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Been able to communicate verbally efficiently.
  • Sedentary work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
