Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Sr EHS Supervisor, the EHS Specialist will help TUMM1 maintain EHS compliance and assist with other EHS duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, ensure, and enhance compliance for Environment, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene compliance programs.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure that they follow government safety regulations.
  • Design and implement workplace programs and procedures that control or prevent chemical, physical, or other risks to workers
  • Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and ensure proper use by workers.
  • Investigate incidents to determine the cause and possible prevention.
  • Prepare written reports of their findings.
  • Conduct mock OSHA and TCEQ audits and inspections.
  • Maintain and improve plant-wide Safety Training Plan.
  • Collaborate with management to establish and maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification.
  • Contribute to compliance audits of site programs and policies, and deliver audit outcomes to Sr. EHS Supervisor.
  • Maintain the site SWPPP, Air PBR, and submit routine environmental reports to appropriate agencies
  • Manage the Trina Solar document portal and the compliance calendar.
  • Examine worksites for environmental or physical factors that could harm employee health, safety, comfort, or performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Safety.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in EHS or related field, (minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
  • OSHA Certification preferred.
  • Environmental regulations experience preferred.
  • Experience writing EHS reports to regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals of varied backgrounds. Ability to present in front of large groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understand regulatory requirements (TCEQ, EPA, etc.)
  • Experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
  • Ability to create new policies and procedures.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Been able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Been able to communicate verbally efficiently.
  • Sedentary work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
